The show opens with the thirty single women entering down a staircase, before standing behind a podium bearing their name, with fifteen podiums on each side of the central love lift. Once the women are in place, Mr McGuinness makes a cheesy, and sometimes mildly suggestive comment along the lines of, ‘Let the butter, see the crumpet’, or, ‘Let the tomato, see the sauce’, followed by a cry of ‘Single man. At this point a man descends in the love lift, to the sound of a song we are told he has chosen himself. Once he has briefly strutted around in front of the women, we move on to the main game. Love in an elevator, livin’ it up when I’m goin’ down The first round, is perhaps the quickest, and certainly the most superficial. Here, based only on the man’s appearance, choice of music, name, and home town, the 30 women must declare themselves in or out, by means of pressing a button on their podium, which will turn their light from white to red, or in the words of the host, ‘No likey, no lighty’. Once some, none or fewer of the women have declared themselves out, the host makes his way over for a brief chat with some of the women to see why they made the choice they did. The second and third rounds often swap places in the running order, but each round sticks to the same format each time it is played. One round will see the man display some kind of skill or talent. This can be anything from musical skills to physical prowess.

For Scots contestant Kayleigh Marie Fox, her debut was almost ruined by a pair of high heels. I partnered up with a girl called Christina and we held hands for support but during one rehearsal I almost fell and felt bad because she almost went down with me. Kayleigh came a close second in the episode shown on Saturday night but will be seen by viewers for weeks to come and could still find her dream date. And she insisted that although the girls are in competition, they are all good pals behind the scenes.

The real name of this location is never revealed on the show, all you see is a beautiful beach location, a stunning hotel and the awkwardness that is the date. Following the huge popularity of this show to audiences all over the UK, there suddenly became a huge amount of calls to tour operator sales teams asking where the Isle Of Fernando is and how much it would cost to book. So here I reveal for you, it is actually Tenerife, which is part of the Canary Islands.
Tenerife is actually a number one seller for a number of companies such as Directline Holidays, Thomas Cook and Thomson, therefore this only pushed sales even further. You can find Tenerife just off the North West coast of Africa, however it will always fall under the Mediterranean in regards to descriptions of location. Below are some facts about Tenerife: The swimming pool is relatively large, while there is also a jacuzzi and a spa.
One common misconception by many early on was that it might actually be the real location Isla Fernando in Brazil, but rest assured this would be far from affordable for Channel Four. No, no, this is a cheap trip over to Tenerife, where the Brits are there in packs. Obviously, we are talking about the location for the second series of the show, however the third series actually flew them off to Cyprus, however the one we always think of when we watch the old shows being repeated is the Tenerife location.

Critical reception[ edit ] The song received critical acclaim from music critics. Thanks to a couple of posts on blogs that I refuse to own up to following, my afternoon has been dedicated to Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’. When it’s sad, I’m sad. When it’s angry, I’m angry. And when it’s ridiculously over-produced, up-tempo bubblegum pop with terrible lyrics on a beautiful day in Chicago when I’m wearing pink pants, I just kind of want to start skipping around handing my number out to random bros, you know?

Nup , there are no rose ceremonies or fake marriages here. But the biggest difference? We aren’t trying to pretend that we’re going to get people married. And we’re not trying to pretend that we know some of our contestants aren’t just here for a bit of fame.
